Focussing on returns, not on benchmarks
A client’s primary focus, when reviewing any investment they have made, is the return that they have achieved. When gains are made, it is nice to know that a manager has beaten a particular market, however when the value of their assets decline, there is little comfort in learning from their manager that, despite having lost their money, that they have in fact ‘beaten their benchmark’.
With investment markets moving more rapidly than ever before, selecting the right assets, at the right time, and in the most appropriate proportions, has never been more important.
bridport’s investment process attempts to provide clients with a positive return, irrespective of underlying market conditions, rather than tracking a benchmark and accepting that an investor’s money will succeed or fail with the herd.
