Since joining bridport in 1998, Jason has seen his responsibilities grow from that of salesperson to being the Managing Director of the Jersey operation. During this time the Jersey office has grown from a one-man operation offering just one service, to a team of seven people offering Fixed Income, Equities and Money Broking together with Private client asset management. It is also about to launch a number of Investment Funds. “The learning curve has been steep, but enjoyable. I cannot think of many companies where people have the backing to put ideas into effect such as happens at bridport. The expansion of the Jersey office is directly due to listening to clients needs and responding to them The key to our growth has been to put together a team of motivated people who are each specialists in their own areas, this enables us to offer an unparalleled service to our clients, which is driven by their requirements.” In his spare time Jason loves being on or under the water, or adding to his amazing Simpson memorabilia collection.

Jason is responsible for the asset management function offered by bridport in Jersey. “Our size and independence makes us agile enough to tailor services to meet each of our client's specific requirements, rather than finding the 'best fit' from a range of off the peg products”. Before joining bridport in 2005, Jason held senior asset management roles in Deutsche Bank and HSBC. Jason's interest in investment extends to his collection of classic motorcycles, and when not racing one of his bikes, he can be found surfing the beaches and reefs of his native Jersey.

Alex is a Managing Partner of bridport and his big focus area at present is the Jersey operation and the growth of the Asset Management business. “The uniqueness of our business offer is our independence and our total service mentality. Many things have changed over the 17 years of our existence, but these have never changed.” After graduating from the Sorbonne University in Paris, Alex joined Kleinwort Benson, before moving on to Chase Manhattan, and came with them to Geneva in 1985 to be General Manager of Investment Banking. He was appointed Managing Director Shearson Lehman Brothers, New York in 1988 before setting up bridport & cie s.a. with Thomas Bartholdi in 1991. Alex loves to travel to discover different parts of the world and has tackled some of the world’s most challenging ski slopes and dived in the planet’s richest oceans. For Alex, the highs and lows in business and leisure are an interesting combination... although he spends far more time skiing than he does diving!

Thomas Bartholdi

Thomas is a Managing Partner of bridport and is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, as well as client responsibilities with several key accounts. “‘Service’ is what makes us unique, the way we do things right - simple as that. Speed, access to information; everything we do is ‘tailormade’ and we give clients what’s right for them.” Thomas’ career began with an apprenticeship with the Bank of Zuzwil. He became a trader in the fixed income division of Bank Vontobel, Zurich, before moving to Geneva with Deutsche Bank in 1981, and then later, acting as Head of Trading and Sales at Chase Manhattan. A born competitor, Thomas wants to win whether it’s on his home golf course, on the slopes of Zermatt, or running in the streets of New York City. Participating in these sports (and more) has allowed him to meet many others from all walks of life, who share the same passions and to visit extraordinary parts of the world. They also help him to focus when he gets back to the competitive environment of the financial markets.
