Alex is a Managing Partner of bridport and his big focus area at present is the Jersey operation and the growth of the Asset Management business. “The uniqueness of our business offer is our independence and our total service mentality. Many things have changed over the 17 years of our existence, but these have never changed.” After graduating from the Sorbonne University in Paris, Alex joined Kleinwort Benson, before moving on to Chase Manhattan, and came with them to Geneva in 1985 to be General Manager of Investment Banking. He was appointed Managing Director Shearson Lehman Brothers, New York in 1988 before setting up bridport & cie s.a. with Thomas Bartholdi in 1991. Alex loves to travel to discover different parts of the world and has tackled some of the world’s most challenging ski slopes and dived in the planet’s richest oceans. For Alex, the highs and lows in business and leisure are an interesting combination... although he spends far more time skiing than he does diving!

Thomas Bartholdi

Thomas is a Managing Partner of bridport and is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, as well as client responsibilities with several key accounts. “‘Service’ is what makes us unique, the way we do things right - simple as that. Speed, access to information; everything we do is ‘tailormade’ and we give clients what’s right for them.” Thomas’ career began with an apprenticeship with the Bank of Zuzwil. He became a trader in the fixed income division of Bank Vontobel, Zurich, before moving to Geneva with Deutsche Bank in 1981, and then later, acting as Head of Trading and Sales at Chase Manhattan. A born competitor, Thomas wants to win whether it’s on his home golf course, on the slopes of Zermatt, or running in the streets of New York City. Participating in these sports (and more) has allowed him to meet many others from all walks of life, who share the same passions and to visit extraordinary parts of the world. They also help him to focus when he gets back to the competitive environment of the financial markets.

Maurizio Caputo

Maurizio joined bridport in March 2008 as Chief Financial Officer, after over 10 years with an international audit firm. “From my first day I could feel the spirit of the company - a group of individuals, who work together as a team and are clearly focused on the essentials.” Maurizio entered the finance industry after graduating from the University of Lausanne. A member of AICPA and a former CFB authorized auditor, he enjoys the fast-moving world of business, and finds close parallels with his passion for Formula 1. But at long weekends, you can often find him recharging his batteries with his wife and two children in the Piedmont region over a glass of Barolo and around those sumptuous meals that only the Italians can truly master....

Giuseppe Giannuzzo

Giuseppe is a Director of bridport, managing the day-to-day operations of the Geneva office. He also oversees several of the company’s key accounts. “We’re a ‘boutique’ company – small, close to our clients, fast on our feet. We listen to them and offer custom-driven solutions and services.” He began his career with an apprenticeship at UBS, and then moved to their settlement department. Giuseppe joined bridport in 1993 in the Back Office and moved through the execution desk, became head of trading and then moved to the front desk. Outside of the business his focus is his family, and he loves to spend time with them in the sun, and in the mountains. Football is also a great passion, he is, after all, Italian, and he still plays but claims that he’s not quite the force that he used to be.

Xavier Cornaz

Xavier is a Senior Vice-President of bridport managing a portfolio of clients, handling their fixed income investments. “We take a friendly attitude to our work: firstly amongst each of us, and then on with our clients. I know many of the Christian names of the kids of my clients. He Joined bridport from Great Pacific Capital back in 1991 at the very outset of the company, working in the Back Office before migrating to the desk. All his training in trading and sales has been with bridport. An athletic type, Xavier is the President of his local boxing club and has run seven marathons in his time, three in Lausanne, as well as New York, Florence, Berlin and Monaco.

Frédéric Hirsbrunner

Frédéric is a Senior Vice-President of the company, handling clients as well as managing the relationship with Swissquote, Switzerland’s largest online bank. “What we do best is offer a superior service – better than any other I’ve come across. Speed, availability, and market information is what we deliver in critical timeframes and KEOX is a unique tool in this regard.” He joined bridport from Banque von Ernst, where he was responsible for asset allocation. Previously he had worked in Swiss Franc fixed income trading at Swiss Bank Corporation and moved to Samuel Montagu, specializing in grey market trading. His cultural hobbies include cinema, the theatre and art.

Thierry Houdard

Previously in charge of the IT department, Thierry’s current role is as the Head of Operations for bridport. In addition to his previous IT responsibilities, this now encompasses the Back-Office and Keox groups. All operational aspects, which have become increasingly important as the company has grown, now rest on his shoulders. He relishes the challenge. “We have a critical role to play at the heart of the company, and a lot of work to do. But I know that I can rely on teams of dedicated and highly skilled people, and fortunately the atmosphere remains open and friendly.” Thierry studied as a Software Engineer and more recently was awarded a MBA from the University of Geneva. He’s another one who likes to get behind the camera, and with family links to Burgundy and Bordeaux Thierry is no stranger to the delights of a fine wine.
