Roel has spent the majority of his career in business development and in financial services. He has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Russia, France and the UK, before coming to Switzerland in 2008. He remembers with fondness his activities in Russia in the 1990s where he brokered business opportunities between West and East. After spells with venture capitalists at the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and more recently in derivatives with IG Group in London he came to Geneva with Saxobank.
