Farshad joined bridport after 3 years with HSBC and an 8-year spell with Capital Management where he was involved in many of the company’s operations; corporate activities, settlements, middle office, pricing etc. At bridport, he’s part of the company’s growing middle office team, ”A bridge between the needs of the front and the operations at the back office”, he explains. He’s responsible for assessing risk on a day-to-day basis and is also closely involved in the ‘today’ and ‘tomorrow’ of the company…evaluating the way it is presently operating, helping to plan the processes for the future and reporting these back to management. After work he becomes a ‘full-time dad’ – “ I have three lovely ladies at home…my wife and two young daughters. So after a day in the office, and my daily responsibilities at home, I’m exhausted”.

Joel was brought up and educated in Paris and began his career in various back office functions in financial institutions. In 2007 he came to Geneva and worked at EFG Bank, before moving to bridport in a temporary capacity in November 2009. In May 2010 his position in the back office team at bridport was confirmed. “The Paris to Geneva move was an interesting one. The cities, in business and life, are very different. In my experience in Paris, everything was very departmentalized, here it’s much more from a to z, and more interesting and stimulating as a result.” He and his young family have also adapted well to living in Geneva. “We very much enjoy the pace of everything here…it’s much less stressful. But we always try to get back to our families for weekends every couple of months, and to the hustle and bustle of life in Paris.”
